QCSHS Alumni Basketball League Highlights (June 30, 2012)

Posting the highlights of the QCSHS Alumni basketball league second playdate;

Games highlights posted are as of June 30, 2012. Highlights provided by Mister Rommel Madayag of Team Legends:

Week 2 Games Results

Finally, Team Thunders wins convincingly in the league with a win over Team 4002 75 - 63. The Fountain-of-Youth formula proved them right as their new recruits led the charge with Charles Luzano (2010) finishing with 26 pts, Daniel Calda (2010) and Brian Operario (2012) added 17 pts and 15 pts apiece. Team 4002 set the tone in the first half but a trapping defense led by the “ freshies” of Thunders in the second half signaled the collapse of the 4002. Jerome Medel led Team 4002 with 26 pts.

Far from the finals match-up picture, Team 2k3 hammered Team mm1 all throughout the game with a 68 – 46 win to post its 2nd win in as many games. Royan Hernandez led the defending champs with 29 pts. Edd Lozano was unstoppable as he contributed 15 pts mostly on fast breaks. Adding...
to the woes of mm1 was the arrival of Jacob Manlapaz in the Second Half who added 13 pts. Christian Bacolot led mm1 with 15 points.

Team Legends aka “Manong Gang” survived a late rally by Team 05-06 and relied on its behemoth Delo Celo’s heroics in the dying seconds to win a low-scoring ball game 48 – 46 in the last match up. The game was dictated right from the start by Team Legends who relied on its big men with big plays. But a 11-2 run in the dying minutes of the 4th quarter capped by a 3-pointer courtesy of JA Torralba with 3.1 seconds left tied the score at 46. A missed 15-foot jumper by Pat Solosa was tipped in by Delo Celo right before the buzzer to win it for Team Legends. Pat Solosa led Manong Gang with 12 points while Delo Celo added 10. Marnex Mijares led 05-06’ losing cause with 12 points.

2’s at Week 2.
Week 2 showcased some ridiculous stats. All games were won with margins ending in two: 12 pt win by the Thunders, 22 pt win by 2k3 and a 2-pt win by Team Legends. Also we could have had our 2nd person to be slapped with a 1-game suspension (Marvin Ibarra of 4002) if not for his appeal and review with the game officials.
